A Day at the Hamburg Christmas Markets

Hallo once again!

A triple update to make up for my late blogging!  Today, my sister and I hit up all the Christmas Markets in central Hamburg (I think there were 5 in total!).  Though there is still a clear lack of snow on the ground, I assure you that winter is here!  Visiting the Christmas markets reminds me that Christmas is right around the corner and I am so excited for my first Christmas away from home!  Though there are typical staples at every Christmas market (mulled wine, sweets/candied nuts/gingerbread hearts, sausages), each market is different than the last.

Latte macchiato from McDonald's - came with a cookie! :)

Lego Santa!

Hope you enjoyed a peek at German Christmas Markets!  Until next time - cheers! :)

A Sunday in Hamburg

Hallo again!

Sunday morning began with an outing to the Scandanavian Christmas Markets!  We visited the Swedish church, the Norwegian church, and the Finnish church.  The Scandanavian Christmas markets are held a week before the other Christmas markets in order to encourage visitors!  It was great walking around and seeing what they had - the Finnish church even had reindeer stir fry!

Next, we decided to walk across the Elbe tunnel.  As you may have guessed, it is an old tunnel that goes under the Elbe river to the industrial area on the other side.  The Lion King theatre is there (among other things)!

The highlight of the day was definitely going to see my very first handball game!  Hamburg vs. Lubeck at O2 World!  Guess what?  WE WON! :D

Overall, a very eventful weekend.  Until next time - cheers!
